Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling will make professional wrestling history once again with the second annual Season of Xcellence in 2017. Six teams will be competing to dethrone The Stranglers as Team Xcellence, including The Pack.

The 2017 Season of Xcellence kicks off on March 12th at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Kansas City, Missouri!
Bigg Dogg and The Pack began the 2016 Season of Xcellence with high expectations, and with good reason. The lineup of Bigg Dogg, J.C. Thunder, Angel Skycall, David Cattin, and Johnny Rocco was a potent mixture of size and cunning with over 50 years of combined ring experience, yet they were the first team eliminated. After all, anything can happen in (or out of) the ring, and a successful run was not in the cards for The Pack in the first-ever Season of Xcellence. In 2017, Bigg Dogg returns as The Pack’s captain, and he has decided to completely overhaul the roster. This new edition of The Pack is considerably younger, but their fire and toughness should take them far.
A well-respected ring veteran who has won championships across the Midwest, Bigg Dogg is not used to having anything to prove. But after being forced out of the 2016 Season of Xcellence at the midway point after suffering a leg injury at the hands of turncoat “Smooth as Satin” David Cattin, only to watch helplessly as The Pack became the first team to be eliminated, Bigg Dogg is eager to remind KCXW and Midwest wrestling fans that he deserves to be the leader of The Pack once again. Bigg Dogg has always had a vicious bite to back up his bark, and his Rabies Shot finisher is a guaranteed clincher. Now with a chip on his shoulder as well as a string of decisive victories since his return to KCXW - including his win in an epic dog collar match against Cattin at KCXW: Wrestling for Veterans in February – Bigg Dogg must be considered a favorite to take The Pack a long way in the 2017 season.
Aaron Clay often claims to be on a mission, and he wrestles like it. A tireless fighter with strength and agility, Clay works hard both inside and out of the ring for what he feels is right. He had a successful year in 2016, winning singles and tag team matches in exhibitions and as a member of the third-place Street Kings in the first Season of Xcellence. That season saw Clay, under the tutelage of team captain “Kingpin” Angel Medina, become a tougher, more dangerous wrestler. His spear especially is more potent than ever, and it has become one of the most feared finishers in KCXW. While Clay learned much from Medina, he did not acquire his bad nature; Clay remains as positive and upbeat as ever. After The Pack’s disappointing 2016, Bigg Dogg has surely drafted Clay as much for his infectious positivity as his ring prowess (Clay slamming David Cattin through a table may have influenced him as well). Look for Aaron Clay to become a prominent voice for The Pack in 2017.
Masked vigilante The Purple Phoenix earned a lot of attention in the 2016 Season of Xcellence as a member of The Force, for all the right reasons. He is tough-as-nails in the ring, and exhibits a team-first attitude in Battle Royale matches, sharing the victory in a Battle Royale with teammate Shannon Reed at KCXW: Double Elimination I. Though he is joining a new team in 2017, Purple Phoenix will be among familiar faces; he and Aaron Clay have won matches as a tag team before, and his time with The Force was spent extensively with fellow Packmate The Sarge. In case Bigg Dogg believes in luck, Purple Phoenix even brings a nice three-match winning streak to The Pack, most recently defeating Alex Gutrot at KCXW: Wrestling for Veterans. But it’s Purple Phoenix’s Wing Clipper, not his rabbit’s foot, that will bring the most fortune to The Pack.
The Sarge began his KCXW career as a manager, and was very successful as The Force’s coach in the 2016 Season of Xcellence. But make no mistake – The Sarge can handle himself in a fight, too. A passionate student of professional wrestling, the former Marine has extensively travelled the Midwest seeking more ring knowledge and experience, picking up victories along the way including a Battle Royale win. The Sarge’s tireless training and dedication impressed fellow military veteran The Bigg Dogg enough to draft him on The Pack. The Sarge’s leadership experience and ring savvy will be great assets to The Pack.
Max Wolf is the youngest member of The Pack, but he is certainly no runt. With his toughness, size, and a “come at me” smirk on his face, it is easy to imagine that the youngest member of The Pack reminds Bigg Dogg of his younger self. Opponents have attested that Wolf packs a mean punch as he sets up his prey for the Silver Bullet, his lights-out roundhouse kick. Wolf has already left his mark on Kansas City wrestling in his handful of matches. He still has a lot to learn, but with Bigg Dogg, The Sarge, Purple Phoenix and Aaron Clay as mentors, he is bound to become one of the top young stars in KCXW.
