2017 KCXW Season of Xcellence Team Rosters: The Force

Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling will make professional wrestling history once again with the second annual Season of Xcellence in 2017.  Kyle King and The Stranglers were crowned Team Xcellence in the 2016 season, and they will be back to defend the title.  But five other teams will be vying for glory, including The Force.

The Force had an incredible run in the 2016 Season of Xcellence, coming just a coffin’s nail away from winning the title of Team Xcellence.  Their streak of Battle Royale wins and Captain Shabam’s stunning dog collar match victory over “Kingpin” Angel Medina brought them to the brink of glory, turning heads and winning new fans young and old in the process.  In the 2017 season, The Force won’t be taking anybody by surprise, but returning team leader Captain Shabam has assembled a potent lineup that will be ready for any challenge that KCXW President Jordan Smiley can imagine.  Indeed, The Force’s underdog status was undeserved in 2016, and in 2017 they have gotten even tougher.  After coming so close to the ultimate prize, The Force have unfinished business, and Shabam and his team are ready to settle it in 2017.

Captain Shabam

Shabam

The Hero of Centropolis has used the underdog card to his advantage for much of his career, and no one in wrestling is better at capitalizing on being underestimated.  But Shabam’s foes will know better this season, and he will spend his second season as head of The Force with a target on his back.  But Shabam is tenacious, tough, and he lands a mean choke slam.  Most importantly, he is longing to finish what he started last season.  He has also proven the value of leadership and comradery, and is expected to have a roster of teammates willing to follow him to the ends of the Earth.

Shannon Reed

Shannon Reed

“The Bullysmasher” Shannon Reed hates bullies and villains, and he is quick to challenge anyone who he feels needs to be taught a lesson in manners.  One of the biggest men in KCXW, Reed backs up his words with an imposing mix of power moves, culminating in his Reed Awakening finisher.  Shannon is an effective tag team wrestler as well, especially in tandem with fellow Force member Cornelius Wyverstone.  The big man on The Force will be there whenever his teammates need someone to lean on in 2017.

Cornelius Wyverstone

Wyverstone

The Prince of the Wyverstone Circus was a late arrival to The Force in 2016, but he quickly made his presence felt with his passion and unorthodox technique.  His drive and desire to compete the “right way” allowed him to easily fit in on The Force, a team that above all else strives to live by Captain Shabam's creed of "Truth, Justice, and Equality".  He was a standout in all his 2016 matches, particularly the Survivor Series match at the finals between The Force and The Stranglers at KCXW: Xcellence.  With his agility, intensity, an effective Echo Drop finisher, and an awe-inspiring moonsault, Cornelius Wyverstone is arguably the most dangerous member of The Force in 2017.

Logan Rixx

Logan Rixx

Veteran wrestler Logan Rixx only recently debuted with KCXW, but Captain Shabam had no qualms adding this energetic athlete to The Force for 2017.  After all, with ten years of travelling the Midwest earning accolades as well as championship gold, he had quite a reputation preceding his arrival.  Logan is a fierce, passionate competitor with a fire inside him that is always just seconds from erupting like a volcano.  His teammates can rest assured that in Logan Rixx they have a man who will fight for them to the death.  With his immense ring talent, that is a comfort indeed.

Juno Granger

Juno Granger

Juno Granger made his professional wrestling debut in February at KCXW: Wrestling for Veterans.  Many people in attendance at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema were impressed by his quickness and ring smarts, including his tag team partner Logan Rixx.  Most notably, he caught the eye of Captain Shabam, who saw in the young man the spirit and never-say-die attitude that define the members of The Force.  Few team captains would be as willing to take a flyer on such a novice wrestler.  But with a contagious positivity, an eagerness to learn, and a devastating Shining Wizard finisher, Juno Granger has exactly what it takes to make Captain Shabam’s gamble pay off.
